Alex says...

Whoa. So, that was a whirlwind. currently sitting on the train, on our way to Philly for the day.

We packed so very much in during our stay in DC. Our feet are aching, legs sore, and our awe has been maxxed out. I'm sure the kids will wax on about everything we did.

We had amazing meals - every single one of them! There wasn't a bummer meal in the batch! Highlights:

- Finally giving in and letting the kids have Dunkin' Donuts yesterday
- Indian in China Town (heh - it's all Asia, right?)
- Trendy pizza with a great crust, mixed flours of corn & wheat
- A fab. burger joint with the best onion rings I've ever tasted
- Amazing brewery with great eats with friends who'd relocated
- Breakfasts &  tea & cookies at the end of each day at the hotel that were a group affair. It was lovely to chat with so many fellow visitors, and lovelier still to have such kind & caring people running the hotel. I should make a separate post about the hotel experience...

At the end of our day today, the kids and I hop back on the train and head off on our adventure, leaving Nick, who flies home today. Happy about one, sad about the other, obviously.

I'm spending some time contemplating how to do Boston a bit differently - a bit more relaxed. Slowing down a bit more. It really has been exhausting, and I the kids will enjoy the little that we do get to do more.
